Volodymyr Murza | Accordion

Volodymyr Murza is a laureate of national and international competitions (Klingenthal, Germany, 1988), a folk artist of Ukraine and a professor at the Department of Folk Instruments of the Odessa National Academy of Music. He has given more than 1000 solo concerts with music of various styles and genres in Ukraine and abroad and has also performed with symphony, chamber and folk orchestras. His concert career has taken him to many famous concert halls around the world.

He initiated the founding of the folk instrument ensemble ‘MURZA’ and the ensemble ‘KVINTANGO’ and participated as a jury member in many national and international competitions as well as in more than 60 international festivals. Murza's concert repertoire includes more than 250 original works and arrangements for accordion. He has premiered more than 50 works by V. Vlasov as well as by D. Kosorich, A. Nazarenko, O. Polevoy, M. Imchanitsky and others.

Volodymyr Murza's great reputation in the accordion world is based on his pedagogical and artistic talent. Many graduates of his class have not only become excellent teachers but also celebrated prize-winners at international competitions.
