When concerts with an audience were still impossible due to the pandemic, musicians from seven European countries met with strings from the Berliner Symphoniker to record the big concert “Berlin celebrates Piazzolla” on May 30, 2021 in the Auenkirche.
Concert “Berlin celebrates Piazzolla” – Part 1
The Quinteto Respiro, recently winner of the Piazzolla Music Competition 2021, consisting of Sebastien Innocenti / bandoneon, Emilie Aridon-Kociolek / piano, Sabrina Condello / violin, Fabio Lo Curto / bass clarinet and Dorian Marcel / double bass has presented an excellent program of the highest quality.
Outstanding international accordionists such as Yuri Shishkin, Sergei Osokin, Eglė Bartkevičiūtė, Gorka Hermosa as well as the talented young accordionists Piotr Yarinenko and Ryan Corbett presented a very interesting program together with strings from the Berliner Symphoniker under the conductor Symeon Ioannidis.
There were also two world premieres: “Dwarves’ Tales” for accordion and strings by Gorka Hermosa which is dedicated to the Pantonale Festival, and “Infinito” for accordion and strings by Victor Vlasov.
